The Edo State Government has officially directed all public and private schools in the state to commence the 2024/25 academic session on September 30, 2024. This follows an earlier change from the original resumption date of September 9, 2024.

In a statement released in Benin City, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ojo Akin-Longe, addressed concerns over a circulating fake notification claiming schools would reopen on a different date. He reassured parents and guardians to disregard such misinformation and adhere strictly to the new date of September 30 for the resumption.
